DESCRIPTION

Art Workers Italia created the digital capsule “Baci da AWI”, conceived as a travel diary exploring the lives and working conditions of women active in the fields of arts and culture in Italy. The project offers a space for sharing experiences, challenges, and forms of resilience within the contemporary cultural sector.

Together with colleagues associated with AWI — Tea Andreoletti, Nicoletta Fazio, Francesca Masoero, and Alice Pedroletti — we reflected on our experiences as art workers living in a condition of constant mobility. Our professional paths often require movement across different countries and contexts, from Helsinki to Berlin, from Malta to Doha, and as far as Marrakesh.

This episode focuses on our relationships with Italy, addressing both positive and critical practices within the cultural sector, and highlighting the structural differences and challenges encountered while working across national and institutional frameworks.

DESCRIPTION

Art Workers Italia created the digital capsule “💋Baci da Awi💋”: the travel diary of a tour that explores the world of women working in the arts and culture in Italy – an opportunity to share experiences, challenges, and successes in the contemporary cultural sector.

Together with my colleagues associated with AWI, Tea Andreoletti, Nicoletta Fazio, Francesca Masoero, and Alice Pedroletti, we shared our experiences as art workers living in a state of constant mobility, often requiring us to move across different countries of the world: in this case, from Helsinki to Berlin, from Malta to Doha, and even to Marrakesh.

In this episode, we delve into the connections we have with our country and discuss the good and bad practices within the sector, highlighting the differences and challenges we encounter in our work.
