In Kyiv, culture means resistance. Through books, performances, film, and artistic interventions that defy fear, the local community continues to create spaces where identity can breathe. Cultural Resistance explores how artists, curators, and citizens turn the everyday landscape of conflict into creative gestures — small acts that become monuments, visual narratives that carve out hope.
This is not just about art: it’s about memory, political space, and survival. This article is the outcome of my second research mission to Kyiv — a journey through living archives, shelters turned into studios, and conversations that show how culture refuses to surrender.
