COLLATERAL

DESCRIPTION

Eucalyptus, palm trees, willows, and bamboo dance in the space for the IV Edition of the collaboration between Corneliani and contemporary art.

On the occasion of the launch of the FW23 collection, Italian-Slovenian artist Luca Vanello creates an immersive installation composed of various plant species whirling in the central hall of Casa Corneliani. Thanks to the artist's cooperation with botanical gardens and greenhouses, each plant comes from vastly different geographical locations, coming together in this space for the first time.

Green—familiar in relation to plant species—is replaced by different shades of white, achieved through the removal of chlorophyll. Without chlorophyll, the plants exist in a suspended time, without growth or decay. This condition, impossible in the normal natural cycle, allows for an intimate encounter with the different plant species, revealing rare details that are difficult to notice in their original context.

The creative process invented by the artist involves a series of washes in aqueous solutions and meticulous massages with natural oil. This fragrant solution permeates the immersive installation, intoxicating anyone who passes through it.

Pausing the natural cycle of plants, literally putting it "on hold," resonates with the new FW23 collection by Corneliani, designed precisely to accompany moments of relaxation from daily hustle. Today, when time seems to run faster and work becomes more relentless, it is essential to protect moments of tranquility. The work of Luca Vanello, together with Corneliani's FW23 collection, is an invitation to serenity and the creation of slow time, away from tensions. The installation is to be traversed "on tiptoe," with a careful yet delicate gaze, aware that only in moments of peace can we take care of ourselves and what surrounds us.
