COLLATERAL

DESCRIPTION

I Mangiamondo is an art therapy workshop based on the research of artist Camilla Alberti, organized in conjunction with the exhibition at Galleria Alfabeto Bianco. This pedagogical project, designed for children aged 5 to 7, explores the perspective towards infancy as a tool and method of analysis. It aims to deconstruct dominant narratives, official anthropocentric historiographies, and dichotomies, such as those between the natural and cultural.

I Mangiamondo workshop is an interactive experience that engages children in the artist’s research. Central to the workshop are elements such as lichens, barks, stones, shells, and branches, which are hidden inside specially created boxes. Each child is asked to identify the material using only their sense of touch, encouraging them to rely on senses other than sight.

I Mangiamondo
workshop offers a rich learning experience for children. After an initial practical exercise, the children are taken inside the exhibition. Through a question-and-answer mechanism, they are asked to verbalize the profession of the artist, and their role in society, and identify examples of actions related to the artist’s work. Following this general introduction, the theme of the monstrous in Alberti’s research will be explored. Finally, the children will create their own monsters with the materials discovered in the boxes, fostering creativity and critical thinking.
