"Il Giardino d'Inverno - A Handbook of Possible Shared Practices" is a digital publication resulting from a participatory art project by Rebecca Agnes and Vera Pravda. During their residency at Archivio Viafarini in the Fabbrica del Vapore, the two visual artists organised a series of participatory meetings to discuss the environmental and social issues central to their artistic research. The insights gained from these discussions were compiled into a manual of good practices. Contributing artists, curators and professionals donated plants, creating a 'winter garden' within the Archive. These plants, representing the ideas sown during the meetings, were then planted in public spaces in the spring, to be tended to by the community. The project addresses themes such as the role of fungi, plants and roots in regeneration; the environmental impact of digital activities; sustainable production and material use; and the importance of solidarity, collaboration, and community building.
