DESCRIPTION

In the article published in the independent magazine Ŏpĕra, "Invisible Countries: The Artistic Community Defending the Colonization of the Villages," I explored the role of contemporary art in the rediscovery and protection of Italy's inland areas, often forgotten by the dominant cultural narrative. I weave my personal childhood travel memories with a critical reflection on the current condition of these villages, engaging with the dynamics of depopulation, touristification, and the loss of historical memory.

The article highlights how initiatives such as Una Boccata d’Arte and innovative projects like OSTANA RES or La Rivoluzione delle Seppie offer new paradigms for integrating artistic production with the social and environmental fabric of these territories. Through these experiences, I emphasized the need for authentic engagement and storytelling that goes beyond the stereotypes of the "postcard village," revealing the complexities and contradictions of life in these places.
