The art project Sign of Care includes a series of activities alongside the exhibition through an interdisciplinary approach combining art, geology, and pedagogy. On the opening day, a close dialogue with the young generations of the Berceto area is established by conducting a workshop in collaboration with the village’s nursery school. The young citizens are invited to meet the artist Soley Ragnasdottir, discover the artworks, and create their own version of the care symbol designed for the occasion. Each child, using natural materials collected from the surroundings, such as wood, pigments, flowers, and leaves, creates their own version of the Berceto orchid, an indigenous flower chosen by the artist as the project’s protagonist.
The adults from the mountain area and beyond are invited to participate in a performative walk that leads from the village center to the outlying hamlets. This collective walk is guided by Professor Segadelli, a geologist and expert on the region, who takes the participants on a journey to discover the area's unique botanical species and underground water paths.
