COLLATERAL

DESCRIPTION

During my residency at Isha Osvita Community in Ukraine, I had the opportunity to visit Kyiv and Kharkiv, meeting numerous local artists through studio visits and talks. I also connected with cultural operators, including museum directors, curators, journalists, and NGOs.
My engagement with Ukraine began with the Malta Biennale 2024, artist Alevtina Kakhidze, and curators Kateryna Semenyuk and Oksana Dovgopolova, who represented the national pavilion. Her research illuminated the importance of decolonial themes not as mere theory but as actionable practice. This realization inspired my journey to Ukraine and my commitment to fostering international projects with Ukrainian artists.
