COLLATERAL

DESCRIPTION

The Mobile Photo Studio was part of the Malta Biennale Public Program in collaboration with the Biennale de la Photographie de Mulhouse and the artists Anne Immele, Laura Besancon and Tom Van Malderen.

The Mobile Photo Studio connected the historical tradition of itinerant photographers, who erected ephemeral studios in public domains and offered a tactile experience in a digital age.

Strategically positioned and continuously repositioned in Gzira's most prominent public space, the Mobile Photo Studio invited individuals who make up the tapestry of Gzira and Malta to step forth into the frame. Postcard-sized prints were produced on the spot, creating a collective portrait, with a duplicate copy offered to the participants.
